Though the combined ratings did extremely well, the top two of both sets of ratings were a bit below par and they both had a rather messy look to them, overall.
There is nothing in Wednesday's racing that particularly catches the eye. According to the official handicapper, Mouseen (5-10 Hereford) is 20lbs better in tomorrow than in future races. I'm not so sure he's that far in front and, though I think he has an outstanding chance, if he wins it won't reflect his future handicap mark.
Earlier (4-40 Hereford), it looks a close call between High Gales, Civil Servant, and Bulwark. I need to be closer to race time to ascertain which I consider best. As it stands overnight, I think two of them make a good dutch bet
The Handicap Ratings and Speed Ratings combined top three strike rate for Tuesday was 89% following Monday's 75% and Sunday's 90% -- an in-running weekly average of 84.6%.
There were three from three successful (4) and (5) UK graded races, Monday (all 2nd top, no top rated), giving a winning top two strike rate of 100% following Monday's 80% and Sunday's 75% -- an in-running weekly average of 85%.
The full top three summary for Tuesday:
The clear top rated winning strike rate of the (4) and (5) graded races Tuesday was 0% (no wins) following Monday's 50% and Sunday's 50% -- an in-running weekly average of 33%.
HANDICAPS
Clear top rated strike rate was a very poor 16%. Best SP was 5/1
Top two strike rate (incl joints) was 42%. Best 2nd top SP was 6/1
Top three strike rate was 63%. Best SP was 14/1
SPEED RATINGS
Clear top rated strike rate was 26%. Best SP was 8/1
Top two strike rate (incl joints) was 42%. Best SP was 15/2
Top three strike rate was 68%. Best SP was 10/1
note: Unless there are overnight withdrawals there is always one clear top rated horse (in both services). There are never more than three horses (in either service) in the top two in any race where there are joint 2nd tops (one top rated two joint 2nd top). There are never more than four horses in the top three (in either service) in any race where there are either joint 2nd or joint third tops.
If a horse isn't in the top three rated of the handicaps or the speed ratings, then it is highly likely it won't win.
