The week ended the way it should have started. The ratings picked up significantly with some good priced winners - and the (4) and (5) graded races showed some improvement to almost perform the way they normally do. But the latter's better performance couldn't quite raise the percentages up to normal standards. Onwards to a new week.
On Sunday I will be having a small wager on Signor Peltro (5-05 Goodwood) hoping he continues his good form over a track he has coped well with in the past. I shall also be keeping a close eye on South Cape in this race. He is 4lbs out of the handicap but still well handicapped on his best form of last season. He ran as though running into some form last time out, fading slowly in the final furlong. Many race watchers will have noted him down after that run.

note: Unless there are overnight withdrawals there is always one clear top rated horse (in both services). There are never more than three horses (in either service) in the top two in any race where there are joint 2nd tops (one top rated two joint 2nd top). There are never more than four horses in the top three (in either service) in any race where there are either joint 2nd or joint third tops.
If a horse isn't in the top three rated of the handicaps or the speed ratings, then it is highly likely it won't win.
