Watch For The Prince

Once again the combined ratings did well, Wednesday, but again individually they were a bit messy -- though there was a handicap clear top rated (speed 2nd rated) winner at 14/1, and the (4) and (5) graded races showed some improvement overall.

Thursday continues the week's low grade theme with yet more inconsistent horse's being the main types.

As for horses to tempt me into the bookies lair, I will be closely watching the market in Ayr's 2-40 race. If any significant money comes in for Prince Rhyddarch I will be taking the hint -- despite top weight. This is his ground and his class. He has almost exclusively raced at Hamilton but he has won at Newcastle which is a similarly galloping track, albeit a bit more testing, to Ayr.

The Handicap Ratings and Speed Ratings combined top three strike rate for Wednesday was 75% following Tuesday's 75%, Monday's 81% and Sunday's 76% -- an in-running weekly average of 76.5%

There were three from four successful (4) and (5) UK graded races, Wednesday, giving a winning top two strike rate of 75% following Tuesday's 50%, Monday's 50% and Sunday's 67% -- an in-running weekly average of 60.5%

The full top three summary for Wednesday:

The clear top rated winning strike rate of the (4) and (5) graded races Wednesday continued the low key start to the week with only one winner for a 25% win ratio. This followed Tuesday which was another low 25%, Monday's very low 17% and Sunday's 33% -- an in running weekly average of only 25%

HANDICAPS
Clear top rated strike rate was 20%. Best top rated SP was 14/1
Top two strike rate (incl joints) was 40%. Best 2nd top SP was 3/1
Top three strike rate was 65%. Best 3rd top SP was 9/2

SPEED RATINGS
Clear top rated strike rate was 10%. Best top rated SP was 9/4
Top two strike rate (incl joints) was 40%. Best 2nd top SP was 14/1
Top three strike rate was 60%. Best 3rd top SP was 16/1
note: Unless there are overnight withdrawals there is always one clear top rated horse (in both services). There are never more than three horses (in either service) in the top two in any race where there are joint 2nd tops (one top rated two joint 2nd top). There are never more than four horses in the top three (in either service) in any race where there are either joint 2nd or joint third tops.

If a horse isn't in the top three rated of the handicaps or the speed ratings, then it is highly likely it won't win.
