The subdued week results-wise continued, Friday. Although the combined ratings held up reasonably well and provided a couple or three big priced winners, overall both sets of ratings were poor, and the top rates of the (4) and (5) graded races continued on a low end percentage.
Saturday looks fierce as usual. On the website we recommend a limited battle with the bookie on Saturday's. Tomorrow's cards vividly portray why we advise cutting back on bets. Highly competitive small fields and almost impossible big field handicaps are the norm. An extension would be to highly recommend you limit to virtually zero all your bets in such low grade handicaps as those supplied by Redcar on Saturday. I'd rather eat a raw porcupine than play those races....
I restrict my blog selections to just two horses. Legal Legacy (each way) in Newmarket's 2-20 and Noble Storm in the Beverley Bullet (3-35).
The Handicap Ratings and Speed Ratings combined top three strike rate for Friday was 62% following Thursday's 65%, Wednesday's 75%, Tuesday's 75%, Monday's 81% and Sunday's 76% -- an in-running weekly average of 72.3%

The full top three summary for Thursday:

note: Unless there are overnight withdrawals there is always one clear top rated horse (in both services). There are never more than three horses (in either service) in the top two in any race where there are joint 2nd tops (one top rated two joint 2nd top). There are never more than four horses in the top three (in either service) in any race where there are either joint 2nd or joint third tops.
If a horse isn't in the top three rated of the handicaps or the speed ratings, then it is highly likely it won't win.
