A Place For Kylladdie

This week's good start continued, Monday, with all the services doing well - though again the speed ratings need to find better consistency. I'll be reviewing them all this week.

Tuesday looks a better quality day overall than Monday's 48 races, and there are a few nice horses running.

Tawaabb (4-00 Ripon) is a good 2-Y-O but was a little overfaced in the 6f July Stakes last time. This return to 5f and the drop in class should be enough to see him win. His trainer's juveniles are running well, lately.

On a lesser level (but also at the dreaded Ripon) I am loathe to desert Kylladdie (3-00). There are a few improving types in the race but he should at least place. He has a pound or two in hand of the well fancied Gillburg on their Haydock running, plus he will be more suited to the slightly easier ground than he met there. One massive advantage is that he is a course and distance winner.

The Handicap Ratings and Speed Ratings combined top three strike rate for Monday was 75% following Sunday's a very high 90% -- an in-running weekly average of 82.5%.

There were eight from ten successful (4) and (5) UK graded races, Monday, giving a winning top two strike rate of 80% following Sunday's 75% -- an in-running weekly average of 77.5%.

The full top three summary for Monday:

The clear top rated winning strike rate of the (4) and (5) graded races Monday was 50% following Sunday's 50% -- an in-running weekly average of 50%.

HANDICAPS
Clear top rated strike rate was 29%. Best top rated SP was 17/2
Top two strike rate (incl joints) was 63%. Best 2nd top SP was 12/1
Top three strike rate was 73%. Best 3rd top SP was 7/1

SPEED RATINGS
Clear top rated strike rate was 19%. Best top rated SP was 12/1
Top two strike rate (incl joints) was 42%. Best 2nd top SP was 11/1
Top three strike rate was 52%. Best 3rd top SP was 5/1
note: Unless there are overnight withdrawals there is always one clear top rated horse (in both services). There are never more than three horses (in either service) in the top two in any race where there are joint 2nd tops (one top rated two joint 2nd top). There are never more than four horses in the top three (in either service) in any race where there are either joint 2nd or joint third tops.

If a horse isn't in the top three rated of the handicaps or the speed ratings, then it is highly likely it won't win.
