Hot Ffos Las

There's no denying that although the combined ratings held up fairly well, Thursday was a poor day overall.

There's a very good card at Ffos Las on Friday but it looks fiercely competitive. The Irish seem to have a very strong hand in virtually every race and will probably come away with a winner or two - Hot Oscar (4-55) probably being their premier hope.

Elswhere, it is just as competitive. Get Carter (5-10 Newmarket) is on a roll and should complete the three timer. And Kylladdie can continue the upward curve he is on in Hamilton's 5-30. Ginger Ted is a big danger but not big enough for me to desert Kylladdie

The Handicap Ratings and Speed Ratings combined top three strike rate for Thursday was 65% following Wednesday's 75%, Tuesday's 75%, Monday's 81% and Sunday's 76% -- an in-running weekly average of 74.4%

There were two from four successful (4) and (5) UK graded races, Thursday, giving a winning top two strike rate of 50% following Wednesday's 75%, Tuesday's 50%, Monday's 50% and Sunday's 67% -- an in-running weekly average of 58.4%

The full top three summary for Thursday:

note: Unless there are overnight withdrawals there is always one clear top rated horse (in both services). There are never more than three horses (in either service) in the top two in any race where there are joint 2nd tops (one top rated two joint 2nd top). There are never more than four horses in the top three (in either service) in any race where there are either joint 2nd or joint third tops.

If a horse isn't in the top three rated of the handicaps or the speed ratings, then it is highly likely it won't win.
