You can view our two main services (Handicap Ratings with the Speed Ratings and Select) free for seven days by registering HERE

The Handicap Ratings and Speed Ratings combined top three strike rate for Sunday was 84%.

There were seven (4) and (5) UK graded races, Sunday producing a 57% top two winning strike rate. Three were won by the clear top rated horse, one was won by the joint 2nd top horse. Three races were unsuccessful.

The full top three summary for Sunday is:

HANDICAPS
Clear top rated strike rate was 26%. Best top rated SP was 3/1
Top two strike rate (incl joints) was 63%. Best 2nd top SP was 7/1
Top three strike rate was 74%. Best 3rd top SP was 3/1

SPEED RATINGS
Clear top rated strike rate was 26%. Best top rated SP was 2/1
Top two strike rate (incl joints) was 47%. Best 2nd top SP was 7/1
Top three strike rate was 68%. Best 3rd top SP was 13/2

note: Unless there are overnight withdrawals there is always one clear top rated horse (in both services). There are never more than three horses in the top two in any race where there are joint 2nd tops (one top rated two joint 2nd top). There are never more than four horses in the top three in any race where there are either joint 2nd or joint third tops.

If a horse isn't in the top three rated of the handicaps or the speed ratings, then it is highly likely it won't win.

You can see an explanation of the Handicap Ratings HERE and an explanation of the Speed Ratings HERE. The Speed Ratings are an addition to the handicaps at no extra cost and you can subscribe HERE. There has never been a better time to join us.

I've had a very busy day so will be replying to the comments in the Rose Should Blossom This Time blog posting later. It is a valuable source of feedback, so if you want to comment, please do.

To Monday:

It is a bit early for me to bet in nurseries (I usually wait until after the York Ebor meeting) but I'm tempted by Vilnius (4-15 Musselburgh) who seems ahead of the handicapper. The proviso is the SP. I would accept 6/4 but fear it may be shorter - unless Betfair help us out as it did with Royal Destination on Sunday. I didn't have a bet (see yesterdays blog) but Mick T who I am having a good discussion with highlighted it in his comment on the "Rose" blog post. Well spotted by him and an approach I hadn't really thought of applying. But I'll be watching it closely from now on.

I should get a fair price on Misaro (7-30 Windsor) who I selected for a race at Haydock on Saturday. Unfortunately, the combination of an unseen (i.e. not expected) draw bias and too much rain on the track put paid to his chances. He showed good speed but couldn't quicken on the ground. He is well worth trying again in this tougher race. I think a small each way is in order - so long as Windsor avoids a few showers.

Have a good Monday..
