SUMMARY - W/E Saturday December 19 2009

Just a quick update on the week's averages. The Speed Ratings continue at a low level (though we are confident that we shall soon see an improvement due to a couple of re-adjustment tweaks) and the Select Pick Dutches again had a lowish percentage. But our handicap ratings and 4 and 5 Dutching races continue on a normal, good level.

SUMMARIES W/E Saturday December 19 2009 (weekly average in red in brackets)
The Handicap Ratings and Speed Ratings combined top three strike rate was (74.6%)

The (4) and (5) UK graded races for dutching gave a top two strike rate of (69.2%)

The clear top rated winning strike rate of the (4) and (5) graded races was (40%)

The Select Pick dutching races provided a 58.3% winning strike

The full top three summary (weekly average in red in brackets):

HANDICAPS
Clear top rated strike rate was (24.4%)
Top two strike rate (incl joints) was (54.7%)
Top three strike rate was (61%)

SPEED RATINGS
Clear top rated strike rate was (16.6%)
Top two strike rate (incl joints) was (34%)
Top three strike rate was (48.4%)
note: Unless there are overnight withdrawals there is always one clear top rated horse (in both services). There are never more than three horses (in either service) in the top two in any race where there are joint 2nd tops (one top rated two joint 2nd top). There are never more than four horses in the top three (in either service) in any race where there are either joint 2nd or joint third tops.

If a horse isn't in the top three rated of the handicaps or the speed ratings, then it is highly likely it won't win.

Full Summaries for W/E Saturday December 05 2009

Results from our headline handicap ratings continued in normal good form this week - though the Speed ratings continue to prove to us that all speed ratings are far less potent than the best handicap ratings available (not including those lesser ratings that have more to do with trends than pure form). But you can rest assured we are working overtime to make them the best available. Time is the only restriction to our achieving that (pun intended...).

Summaries for W/E Saturday November 28 2009

The resumption of normal results continued this week with the (4) and (5) graded races continuing to do very well - especially the clear top rated of those races. The top three of the handicap ratings are proving excessively more fruitful than a few of the expensive services we have been offered in emails (spam) the past few weeks.

The Handicap Ratings and Speed Ratings combined top three strike rate was (71.3%)

The (4) and (5) UK graded races for dutching gave a top two strike rate of (75.3%)

The clear top rated winning strike rate of the (4) and (5) graded races was (50.6%)

The Select Pick dutching races provided a 64.3% winning strike

The full top three summary (weekly average in red in brackets):

Results Summaries for W/E Saturday November 21 2009

There has been a dearth of updates recently (for important reasons I won't go into) but from Monday 30 November, daily updates will resume.

Following the downturn in results during the final dregs of the Flat season, results have returned to normality the past couple of weeks. I will update this week's results on Saturday (November 28). Below are the summaries of last week's results. The handicaps have returned very decent figures, as has the clear top rated of the (4) and (5) graded races - the basis of our own betting success.

The Speed Ratings which should be used as a reference point, improved over the week. However, they continue to prove my assertion that no speed ratings can ever match the better handicap ratings available - they certainly can't live with our handicaps.

SUMMARIES (weekly average in red in brackets)
The Handicap Ratings and Speed Ratings combined top three strike rate was (79.4%)

The (4) and (5) UK graded races for dutching gave a top two strike rate of (80.4%)

The clear top rated winning strike rate of the (4) and (5) graded races was (51.3%)

The Select Pick dutching races provided a 50% winning strike

The full top three summary (weekly average in red in brackets):

HANDICAPS
Clear top rated strike rate was (27.6%)
Top two strike rate (incl joints) was (57.6%)
Top three strike rate was (71.7%)

SPEED RATINGS
Clear top rated strike rate was (20.7%)
Top two strike rate (incl joints) was (38%)
Top three strike rate was (50%)
note: Unless there are overnight withdrawals there is always one clear top rated horse (in both services). There are never more than three horses (in either service) in the top two in any race where there are joint 2nd tops (one top rated two joint 2nd top). There are never more than four horses in the top three (in either service) in any race where there are either joint 2nd or joint third tops.

Email Addresses

Please note that due to excessive misuse of our free trial option (many try to get them perpetually) we now accept ISP and website owner email addresses only (see paragraph 4 for others). Your ISP is the internet provider you are signed up to: i.e. Btinternet, Sky, AOL, Orange, ntlworld etc. We will no longer accept web based email addresses such as Hotmail, googlemail.

All free trial requests using web based email addresses will receive a reply noting our decision and asking for a re-request using their ISP email addresses. A comprehensive list of acceptable UK ISP providers are here UK ISP PROVIDERS

We do, of course receive a large amount of overseas free trial requests. The same rules apply. Only Internet Service Provider or web site owned email addresses will be accepted.

There are some email addresses that don't fall within the new rules. Those who work for certain organisations use that organisation's email address. Such emails are accepted.

For security reasons, we will now not provide log in details to free triallists. We will direct people to the website so they can register their own log in details.

Weekly Update W/E Saturday 07 November

There has been a distinct lack of daily updates the past week. If you are a subscriber you will know some of the problems we have had. But new software should now have solved all our problems of the last week (famous last words excepting, of course).

For the second week, the ratings have performed slightly under normal averages. But with the tired old turf flat season out of the way, the averages should pick up this week.

The Handicap Ratings and Speed Ratings combined top three strike rate was (67.3%)

The (4) and (5) UK graded races for dutching gave a top two strike rate of (59.6%)

The Select Pick dutching races provided a 75% winning strike

Update for Sunday to Tuesday November 01 to 03 2009

Due to being busy beyond our "shop" hours, I'll just post a quick update on the week so far (Sunday to Tuesday). Regular postings will resume Wednesday.

The main handicap ratings recovered late last week after a bad few days and the top two strike rate Speed ratings (which we are working constantly to improve) have had a fairly good beginning to the week.. The early results show a slight improvement in our services -- except for the top rated of the (4) and (5) grade races. The Select Pick dutches continue in good form.

SUMMARIES (weekly average in red in brackets)

SUNDAY to TUESDAY
The Handicap Ratings and Speed Ratings combined top three strike rate was 62.3% (62.3%)

There were six from twelve successful (4) and (5) UK graded races for dutching, giving a top two strike rate of 50% (50%)

The clear top rated winning strike rate of the (4) and (5) graded races was 16.7% (16.7%)

Weekly Update (W/E Saturday October 31 2009)

Just a weekly update for the week ending Saturday October 31 2009.

Though the main handicap ratings recovered late in the week, the early week results badly affected the final figures - though the Select Pick did well except for a winless Friday, and the (4) and (5) graded races had a very good Saturday.

A weird week in all.

Star Each Way

The week so far has been well below normal. We don't look like we will gain a 50% top two strike rate for the handicap ratings and, though the (4) and (5) dutching races held their own for most of the week, Friday was almost a complete wash out. So, the (4) and (5) top rated have suffered as well.

A weird week in all.

Selections
Single: Master Medic (3-45 Ascot)
Double: Bollin Judith (2-15 Ayr)
Each Way: Star Wood (2-20 Wetherby)

SUMMARIES (weekly average in red in brackets)

FRIDAY
The Handicap Ratings and Speed Ratings combined top three strike rate was 70% (65.5%)

The Magic Dragon's Day

Fact of the Day: British Horse racing was worth more than £3.7bn to the British economy in 2008

The Bleedin' Obvious of the Day:
That's peanuts...

Horse of the Day:
Puff (1-50 Newmarket)

The Owl has spotted..... High Jack (3-55 Uttoxeter)

The strange week for the ratings got even stranger, Thursday. The strike rates of the top three combined were running at 95% and the strike rate of the handicap top two was running at 85% at the end of the afternoon meetings. Then along came the ridiculous all weather...

Also, the Select Pick Dutches were fully successful again and the (4) and (5) graded races did well again.

SUMMARIES (weekly average in red in brackets)

The Handicap Ratings and Speed Ratings combined top three strike rate for Thursday was 86% (64.6%)

There were ten from twelve successful (4) and (5) UK graded races for dutching, Thursday, giving a top two strike rate of 83% (61.4%)

The clear top rated winning strike rate of the (4) and (5) graded races Thursday was 50% (22.4%)

"'Tis like the howling of Irish wolves against the moon."

Fact of the Day: After decades of supporting and watching horse racing, my opinion is that Kempton's All Weather is STILL the worst ever track built in Britain. I wonder why the attendences are comparable only to an unpopular grooms wedding party.....

The Bleedin' Obvious of the Day:
I sometimes repeat myself -- and embellish...

Horse of the Day:
Hercules (6-45 UK Gold)

The Owl has spotted..... Dormouse (Animal Planet 5-30)

The top two rated of our main handicap ratings are decidedly struggling this week. They are without doubt the worst run of results I have ever recorded. It may have something to do with very low grade, inconsistent horses, running on dog track surfaces in the main, calling enough for the season. There can be no other reason in my eyes. Fair enough, the supposed form horses (favourites/2nd favourites) are still showing something like average returns, but I have to say there have been some surprising horses being backed and winning. But the latter is probably only a personal take on the results reflected by the poor top two returns this week.

It was noticeable that today's only NH meeting produced five from six top two wins while the tired turf and the ridiculous all weather tracks were very poor for the ratings.

.Conversely, the Select Picks and the Graded (4) and (5) races seem to be holding up very well. It's a very strange week....

SUMMARIES (weekly average in red in brackets)

The Handicap Ratings and Speed Ratings combined top three strike rate for Wednesday was 52% (59.25%)

There were five from eight successful (4) and (5) UK graded races for dutching, Wednesday, giving a top two strike rate of 63% (56%)

The clear top rated winning strike rate of the (4) and (5) graded races Wednesday was 13% (15.5%)

The Select Pick dutching races, Wednesday, provided a 100% winning strike (75%)

The full top three summary for Wednesday (weekly average in red in brackets):

Top two strike rate (incl joints) was 45% (36%). Best 2nd top SP was 11/1
Top three strike rate was 52% (55.75%). Best 3rd top SP was 8/1

SPEED RATINGS
Clear top rated strike rate was 14% (9.75%). Best top rated SP was (8/1)
Top two strike rate (incl joints) was 28% (29%). Best 2nd top SP was 5/1
Top three strike rate was 48% (43%). Best 3rd top SP was 8/1

There are never more than four horses in the top three (in either service) in any race where there are either joint 2nd or joint third tops.
